Civilian Resume Writing Workshop

For many job seekers, preparing a resume is the first critical step in the job search process. Learn to prepare a resume that will make a positive impression on prospective employers. Issues discussed include how to put your education, experience, and background together to make the resume work for you. Open to all military/DoD ID card holders. Registration is appreciated. Walk-ins are welcome.

Federal Resume Writing Workshop

Civil service is an especially attractive employment route for the military community. Learn how the federal selection and hiring process works. Information on veteran’s preference, military spouse preference, resume, and other Federal employment applications are provided. A must, if you are considering civil service. Open to all military/DoD ID card holders. Registration is appreciated. Walk-ins are welcome.

Interview Skills Workshop

Know the game – Win the job! The resume gets you the interview; the interview gets you the job. Learn how to prepare for a successful interview, research employers effectively, practice commonly asked interview questions and how to answer them competently, handle difficult and unexpected questions, and apply proper etiquette and body language. Open to all military/DoD ID card holders. Registration is appreciated. Walk-ins are welcome.

Sponsorship Training Class

Per MCO 1320.11G, the Marine Corps Sponsorship Program (MCSP) requires all inbound Marines in the grades of Pvt-SSgt; WO-CWO2; and 2dLt-Capt to be assigned a sponsor. Sponsorship training provides important information to assist sponsors in the execution of their duties and responsibilities. Open to all active duty service members and their spouses. Orders are not required to attend. Registration required.

PCS and Moving Workshop

Per MCO 1320.11G, the Marine Corps Sponsorship Program (MCSP) requires all PCSing Marines to attend. Open to all active duty service members and their spouses. Orders are not required to attend. Registration required.

STARS: Spouse Transition and Readiness Seminar

StarsLogoMilitary Spouses – Is your service member separating or retiring from active duty? Prepare for your future after the military, and reduce the unknowns at this free seminar. Information on the transition process will include VA benefits, relocation, career and education services, budgeting, and TRICARE/insurance. Open to all military/DoD ID card holders. Registration is appreciated. Walk-ins are welcome.

Education Track

Prepare for success in higher education at this two-day seminar. Receive information about how to select a college or university, enrollment procedures, admission requirements, and educational funding, including financial aid and scholarships. Open to active duty service members and their spouses. Registration required.

Career Technical Track

This two-day seminar prepares Marines and Sailors for jobs based on manual or practical activities, traditionally non-academic, and totally specific in trade, occupation, or vocational career fields. Technical training educates and/or certifies attendees in fields requiring expertise in a particular group of techniques or technology preparing the individual for employment in a certain job classification, field or industry. Open to active duty service members and their spouses. Registration required.

Entrepreneur Track

This two-day seminar will help Marines and Sailors make the best and most informed choices about starting, owning, and operating a small business. Participants will be provided with information and references about owning their own business, and gaining a full understanding of the requirements, responsibilities and resources needed to succeed. This workshop will provide participants with the means to decide if this career or employment option is the direction they wish to take when leaving the service. Open to active duty service members and their spouses. Registration required.
