Keiki Summertime Fun – Summer 2019

Looking for something for your keiki to do this summer? Here’s a lineup of activities that will be held on Marine Corps Base Hawaii. Check back for updates as we get closer to summer.

Dance Movement Academy and K-Bay Gymnastics offers dance class in ballet, tap, jazz and gymnastics recreational and competitive for children ages 1.5-17 years old. Creating beautiful music is not just an art–it’s also a science! Come join in the noise as you design and explore your own instrument made from household items. Time to tune up! *Base access is a requirement for participation in this program*

Our Summer Reading Program is back!

Sign up for our summer reading program to expand your imagination, learn a few things and have a little bit of fun. We will kick-off our program on June 8th, 1000-1200 at the K-Bay Base Library.

Our schedule is as follows:

  • Kickoff Party: June 8, 1000-1200
  • Preschool Story Time: Tuesdays at 0900
  • Toddler Story Time: Thursdays at 0900
  • Aloha Friday Hula Class: Fridays, 1000-1200 (no class July 5)
  • Legos at the Library: June 21st, July 5, July 19, 1500-1600
  • STEM: June 12, 26, July 10, 24, 1400-1500
  • Teen Book Club: June 18, July 16, 1700-1800
  • Karaoke: June 27, July 25, 1600-1800
  • Murder Mystery Night: June 19 1700-2000
  • Closing Party: July 20, 1200-1400

Kulia School Age Care (SAC) Summer Camp

Nine weeks of fun! June 3-August 2. Monday-Friday 0600-1800.

We will begin each day with our “Step It Out” which will begin our day with an itinerary and introduction of the days events and choices.

In the afternoon, our Adventure Begins as children will experience activities, crafts, games, foods, songs and dances relating to the weeks theme. See this booklet for the SAC weekly themes.

Our field trips will incorporate the themes of each week to the best of our abilities and resources. We are also inviting special guest to come and share their talents with our children. We are committed to offering a well-rounded, eventful summer camp experience for each and every child.

KidFit Summer Program

KIDFIT is a GREAT opportunity for children ages 6 thru 12 to learn all aspects of physical wellbeing. Your child will learn the importance of warming up, stretching, cardio respiratory fitness, strength and conditioning as well as cool downs.

Summer Sessions of KIDFIT will run on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 0830-1100 from June 3, 2019 through July 26, 2019. Parents can select which week(s) to enroll their child/children.

$45 per child per week. $30 per child, per week for multiple weeks. If you enroll more than one child, the second child attends for $30 per week.

To enroll, complete the KIDFIT Registration Form and return it and your payment to the Semper Fit Center, Building #3037. Space is limited so stop on by today!


Jr. Lifeguarding

Our Jr. Lifeguarding Program is a per session course run on Weekdays, Monday thru Friday 0800-1200 this summer. Jr. Lifeguarding is a fun and interactive program instructed by seasoned MCCS Semper Fit Ocean Rescue Lifeguard professionals. The Jr. Lifeguard program familiarizes 13-17 year olds with ocean awareness, safety and lifeguard rescue skills. Throughout the class Jr. Lifeguards will learn beach/land skills, ocean skills, surf rescue techniques, pool rescue techniques, physical conditioning, ATV safety, Jet Ski safety, community CPR/AED community First Aid and other lifeguarding related skills. Young Chippers Take up Golf at the Klipper
The Klipper Junior Golf Program is a year-round program to bring children and teens to the game of golf. Focusing on basic playing skills, rules and golf etiquette, our program is one of the finest developmental programs in the state of Hawaii. Coaching is provided by certified PGA Professionals and the golfers get individualized attention, which adds to the quickest and most efficient improvement.

Who: All authorized patrons aged 5 – 17
When: Each session is five weeks long. Classes are held on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 4:00 – 5:00 pm for the younger beginning golfers and 5:00 – 6:00 pm for the more experienced golfers.
Cost: $200 for the initial session (includes PGA logo golf shirt) and $150 for every session thereafter. Also includes free golf for the junior golfer on Tuesday afternoons after 4:00 pm.
What to bring: Juniors can bring their own clubs or the staff can provide them. Collared shirts are mandatory. Tennis shoes and or golf shoes are acceptable dress. For detailed information call Mo Radke at (808) 386-3500.

  • An emphasis on the fundamental tennis strokes (volley, groundstrokes, smash, and serve)
  • Hand-eye coordination and movement to the ball
  • Basic rules and etiquette of tennis
  • FUN games that practice the coordination, strokes, and movements being taught
  • The age appropriate ball speed, racquet and court size (QuickStart) will be used
