Keiki Summertime Fun – Summer 2021

Looking for something for your keiki to do this summer? Here’s a lineup of activities that will be held on Marine Corps Base Hawaii. Check back for updates as we get closer to summer.

Children & Youth Programs

Dance Movement Academy and K-Bay Gymnastics offers dance class in ballet, tap, jazz and gymnastics recreational and competitive for children ages 1.5-17 years old. K-Bay Library

Our Summer Reading Program is back!

Sign up for our summer reading program to expand your imagination, learn a few things and have a little bit of fun. We will kick-off our program on June 8th, 1000-1200 at the K-Bay Base Library.

Teens & Adults

Program goal: 1,500 minutes. Earn prizes for every 300 minutes you read up until the program goal. Earn grand prize tickets for every 300 minutes read. You can continue to earn tickets after you reach the program goal.

Events for Teens

  • Teen Book Club: June 15 at 1700
  • Teen Chess Club: every Thursday at 1500
  • Teens After Hours (3): June 16, June 30 and July 14 at 1700
  • Family Hula: June 19 and 26 at 1300

Events for Adults

  • Paint & Sip: June 22 at 1730. Registration required
  • Family Hula: June 19 and 26 at 1300

Children (ages 7-12):

  • Summer Reading Kickoff: June 5 from 0900-1600 (drop in any time)
  • Messy Mondays: Every Monday at 1500. To ensure social distancing, this event is limited to children aged 5-12
  • Read to Dogs: June 8 and July 6 at 1200. Registration required
  • Family Hula: June 19 and 26 at 1300
  • Summer Reading Closing Celebration: July 17 from 1200 – 1400

Toddlers & Prereaders (ages 0-6):

Program goal: 500 minutes. Earn prizes for every 100 minutes you read until you reach the goal. Earn grand prize tickets for every 100 minutes read. You can continue to earn tickets after you reach the program goal.

  • Outdoor Story Time: Thursdays at 0900, Sundays at 1300

Kulia School Age Care (SAC) Summer Camp


Nine weeks of fun!

We will begin each day with our “Step It Out” which will begin our day with an itinerary and introduction of the days events and choices.

In the afternoon, our Adventure Begins as children will experience activities, crafts, games, foods, songs and dances relating to the weeks theme.

Our field trips will incorporate the themes of each week to the best of our abilities and resources. We are also inviting special guest to come and share their talents with our children. We are committed to offering a well-rounded, eventful summer camp experience for each and every child.

KidFit Summer Program

KIDFIT is a GREAT opportunity for children ages 6 thru 12 to learn all aspects of physical wellbeing. Your child will learn the importance of warming up, stretching, cardio respiratory fitness, strength and conditioning as well as cool downs.


Jr. Lifeguarding

Our Jr. Lifeguarding Program is a per session course run on Weekdays, Monday thru Friday 0800-1200 this summer. Jr. Lifeguarding is a fun and interactive program instructed by seasoned MCCS Semper Fit Ocean Rescue Lifeguard professionals. The Jr. Lifeguard program familiarizes 13-17 year olds with ocean awareness, safety and lifeguard rescue skills. Throughout the class Jr. Lifeguards will learn beach/land skills, ocean skills, surf rescue techniques, pool rescue techniques, physical conditioning, ATV safety, Jet Ski safety, community CPR/AED community First Aid and other lifeguarding related skills. Young Chippers Take up Golf at the Klipper
The Klipper Junior Golf Program is a year-round program to bring children and teens to the game of golf. Focusing on basic playing skills, rules and golf etiquette, our program is one of the finest developmental programs in the state of Hawaii. Coaching is provided by certified PGA Professionals and the golfers get individualized attention, which adds to the quickest and most efficient improvement.

Who: All authorized patrons aged 5 – 17
When: Each session is five weeks long. Classes are held on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 4:00 – 5:00 pm for the younger beginning golfers and 5:00 – 6:00 pm for the more experienced golfers.
Cost: $200 for the initial session (includes PGA logo golf shirt) and $150 for every session thereafter. Also includes free golf for the junior golfer on Tuesday afternoons after 4:00 pm.
What to bring: Juniors can bring their own clubs or the staff can provide them. Collared shirts are mandatory. Tennis shoes and or golf shoes are acceptable dress. For detailed information call Mo Radke at (808) 386-3500.
