Throughout the year, 11 races come together to make up the Commanding Officer’s Semper Fit Series. Run along the shoreline of the Pacific Ocean, up mountainous terrain, and even through swampy waters, the challenge is always new and exciting. Run one or run them all, it’s something you’ll never forget! The Commanding Officer’s Series is open to the public.
Frequent Racer Card
In the hopes of recognizing our frequent racers we have developed the MCBH Frequent Racer Card program. This program will allow participants to earn a custom MCBH medal for participating in 7 out of 11 races. This includes races that offer team categories such as our sprint triathlons, biathlon, BOAR run and/or 10K formation run. This 5K course starts and finishes at the MCBH Officers’ Club. The course winds throughout the Klipper Golf Course and includes a beautiful shoreline (beach) run of North Beach. Enjoy a beautiful sunrise as well as amazing views of North Beach and Pyramid Rock. This race is open to the general public. Click here for complete information and to register.
Start your 4th of July off with a BANG !!! Come join us for this one of a kind, scenic 5K run on the Runway of Marine Corps Base Hawaii. This family friendly event will start and finish between Hangars 104 and 105 and will consist of a flat and open one lap around the runway, offering amazing views of the Ko’olau Mountains and Kaneohe Bay. Come join the Marines at Camp H.M. Smith for a challenging and scenic 5K course with a mixture of street and trail. The course will start and finish at Bordelon Field, overlooking a scenic view of Pearl Harbor and incorporating a grueling partial trail run. This event is open to the general public. This exciting children’s only triathlon will consist of 2 age divisions: 7-10 year olds will start with a 100-meter swim, followed by a 3-mile bike ride and finish with a 0.8 mile run. 11-14 year olds will start with a 200-meter swim, followed by a 6-mile bike ride and finish with a 1.2 mile run. This race is open to the general public.
Come join the Marines and Sailors of MCBH for the Tradewind Sprint Triathlon! Start your morning with a brisk 500 meter open water swim in beautiful Kaneohe Bay, followed by a fast paced 11 mile bike ride around the flight line and runway, finishing with a 5K run. This race is open to the general public.
Start your weekend off with a scenic 5K “Pau Hana” run along the air field of Marine Corps Base Hawaii. Participants will have the rare opportunity to run on the flight line and runway in this family friendly event. The race will start and finish are on the flight-line and the course will consist of an evening race offering breath taking views of the Ko’olau Mountains and Kaneohe Bay. The race is open to the general public!
Take a running tour of beautiful MCB Hawaii for our last race of the year! The Turkey Trot 5/10K starts and finishes at Dewey Square and offers to be both fun and challenging for all. Participate as an individual or a 6 person formation (6-person formations must cross the finish line together). There will also be a children’s fun run taking place at 8:15am. No registration is required for the fun run. This race is open to the public.
Come and join Marine Corps Community Services in kicking off the 2019 Commanding Officer’s Race Series with the King of the Hill 5K. This challenging 5K starts and finishes at Dewey Square on MCB Hawaii Kaneohe Bay. The racecourse goes up to The Officers’ Club providing a beautiful scenic view of Kailua Bay and Pyramid Rock before the main challenge of a steep uphill run that goes up to the famous Kansas Tower providing a breath taking view of Kaneohe Bay. This race is open to the public.
Just steps away from the beautiful crystal clear waters of Bellows Beach, the MARINE CORPS TRAINING AREA BELLOWS (MCTAB) will combine endurance with excitement while hosting the BELLOWS OUTDOOR ADVENTURE RACE a.k.a THE B.O.A.R. This adventurous event will take your racing skills to the next level! The run course is 3.1 miles in distance with 5 “circuit stations” throughout to test your strength and endurance. Circuit stations will include ammo cans, sand-bags, tires and low rope crawl. Compete in the open classification (individual or 4-person team) or in the newly created warrior classification (harder, heavier and tougher). The race is open to the public. Awards will be presented to the top three (male and female) open classification, age categories, and top three teams in addition to top three in the warrior classification (male and female). Who knows, you might get a sneak peek of a boar or two. Come join the fun!
Start your Saturday morning off with a brisk 500-meter swim in beautiful Kaneohe Bay and finishing with a 5K run along the flight line and runway which provides scenic views of Kaneohe Bay and surrounding areas. This race is open to the general public. Start time is 7:00am HST.
Are you looking for a fun and challenging children’s only Triathlon? If so, come join MCCS and Headquarters Battalion in our annual Keiki Koa Kai Tri. This sprint triathlon will consist of 2 age divisions: 7 to 10 year olds and 11-14 year olds. The Keiki Koa Kai Triathlon will start at the base pool for the swim portion, and transition to the bike ride throughout the beautiful and scenic Marine Corps Base Hawaii, finishing with the run. This race is open to the general public.
Come join the Marines and Sailors of MCBH for our first triathlon of the year! Start your morning with a brisk 500 meter swim in beautiful Kaneohe Bay, followed by a fast paced 11.1 mile bike ride around the flight line of MCB Hawaii, finishing with a scenic 5K that ends on the MCB Hawaii flight line. This race is open to the general public.
Base Rules: Participants may need to register vehicles at the MCBH Front Gate (H3 entrance). Drivers may be required to present Driver’s License, vehicle registration, safety check and proof of insurance. Please obey all posted speed limits, and follow guidance. Driving Instructions: Enter MCB Hawaii through the H3 Front Gate. Follow special event signs which will direct you to event location and parking.
