Throughout the year, 13 races come together to make up the Commanding Officer’s Semper Fit Series. Run along the shoreline of the Pacific Ocean, up mountainous terrain, and even through swampy waters, the challenge is always new and exciting. Run one or run them all, it’s something you’ll never forget! The Commanding Officer’s Series is open to the public.

Hawaii Marines’ Virtual Marathon

How Does the Hawaii Marines’ Virtual Marathon Work?
Help to support quality of life programs for Marines, Sailors and their families in Hawaii with the Hawaii Marines’ Virtual Marathon! Run, walk or bike 26.2 cumulative miles between February 4th-25th and receive your package with aloha from Hawaii containing a race t-shirt and customized medal.
The Honor System
You will complete your marathon on your own time at the location of your choosing. Throughout the duration of the race, we will send you updates and lots of aloha from us here in Hawaii! Bellows Outdoor Adventure Race (B.O.A.R.)
8:00am Saturday, March 4, Marine Corps Training Area Bellows (MCTAB), 220 Tinker Road (Follow special event signs in Waimanalo)
On Saturday, March 4, 2017 just steps away from the beautiful crystal clear waters of Bellows Beach, the MARINE CORPS TRAINING AREA BELLOWS (MCTAB) will combine endurance with excitement while hosting the BELLOWS OUTDOOR ADVENTURE RACE a.k.a THE B.O.A.R. This adventurous event will take your racing skills to the next level! The run course is 3.1 miles in distance with 5 “circuit stations” throughout to test your strength and endurance. Circuit stations will include ammo can squats, sand-bag carry, push-ups, tire flip and wire crawl. Compete as an individual or as a 4-person team. The race is open to the public. Awards will be presented to the top three finishers in specific age categories, male and female PLUS the top three teams, male, female and mixed. Keiki Koa Kai Sprint Tri
6:30am Saturday, April 29, MCBH Base Pool
The 7-10 age division race will start at 6:30 and the 11-14 age division race will start at 7:30.
Are you looking for a fun and challenging children’s only Triathlon? If so, come join MCCS and Headquarters Battalion in our 3rd annual Keiki Koa Kai Tri. This sprint triathlon will consist of 2 age divisions: 7 to 10 year olds and 11-14 year olds. The Keiki Koa Kai Triathlon will start at the Base Pool for the swim portion, and transition to the bike ride throughout the beautiful and scenic Marine Corps Base Hawaii, finishing with the run. Koa Kai Sprint Triathlon

Come join the Marines and Sailors of MCBH for the first triathlon of the year! Start your morning with a brisk 500 meter swim in beautiful Kaneohe Bay, followed by a fast paced 11.1 mile bike ride around the flightline of MCB Hawaii, finishing with a scenic 5K that ends at Hangar 103. Do you have what it takes to win the Hawaii Armed Forces Joint Race Series? Schofield Barracks, Marine Corps Base, Kaneohe Bay and Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam join forces to create two separate 3-race running series in 2017!
- King of the Hill 5K at MCBH, January 21
- Kolekole 10K at Schofield Barracks, March 11
- Ford Island Bridge Run 10K at JBPHH, April 1
- ARMY 10 Miler at Schofield, July 15
- Hickam Half Marathon at JBPHH, August 19
- Sunset Flightline 5K at MCBH, September 15 (this is a Friday evening race)
The TOP THREE MEN AND WOMEN to complete ALL 3 races in a series with the fastest times will be awarded the Fitness Series medal! Medals will also be awarded by Age Group, to the TOP man and woman who complete ALL 3 races with the fastest time. There are two separate series during 2017. Awards will be given out at the end of each 3-race series.
All DOD ID card holders and sponsored guest are eligible to enter.

Base Rules: Participants may need to register vehicles at the MCBH Front Gate (H3 entrance). Drivers may be required to present Driver’s License, vehicle registration, safety check and proof of insurance. Please obey all posted speed limits, and follow guidance. Driving Instructions: Enter MCB Hawaii through the H3 Front Gate. Follow special event signs which will direct you to event location and parking.
