About Us

The mission of Marine Corps Family Team Building program is to enhance Marine Corps family readiness, to prepare our families to successfully meet the challenges of the military lifestyle and enhance mission readiness.

Marine Corps Family Team Building (MCFTB) facilitates six distinct, yet complementary programs: Family Readiness Program (FRP); Lifestyle Insights, Networking, Knowledge & Skills (L.I.N.K.S.); Life Skills; Readiness & Deployment Support (RDS); Chaplain's Religious Enrichment Development Operation (CREDO); and Prevention & Relationship Enhancement Program (PREP). This department ensures that Commanders and program volunteers receive the necessary resources and support to facilitate family readiness.

Family Readiness Program

The Marine Corps is in the process of shifting from the traditional Key Volunteer model to a Unit Family Readiness Program. To help with this transition is Marine Corps Family Team Building’s Family Readiness Program.

Family Readiness Program Trainer Mele Stender provides standardized Transitional Key Volunteer training, which is open to all spouses of active duty Marines and those serving with Marines. Attending the training is a good way to meet other spouses who share the Marine Corps bond while learning how the command team, MCCS team, and military family work together to manage mission, life, and career events.

The Family Readiness Program also conducts briefs for units, including Family Readiness Officer training and Command Team training. For more information or to schedule a brief, please call 808-257-2657.

L.I.N.K.S.

Let Lifestyle Insights, Networking, Knowledge, & Skills (L.I.N.K.S.) be one way to welcome you to the unique, sometimes challenging, and very rewarding Military Lifestyle. As with any new lifestyle, many aspects in your everyday world will be very different from what you are used to.

Join the many spouses who have "been down this road" and are excited to pass along their valuable experiences during the next session of L.I.N.K.S. Meet new friends and make the most of your family's military tour. One two-day session will explain a little bit about military history and tradition, how to cope with a "PCS" (permanent change of station) move, and how to find and make use of the resources the base offers to families.

To sign up for a session, call 808-257-2368 for more information.
