Come celebrate Earth Day at Camp Smith on Friday, April 16, from 1130-1330, outside of Pollock Theatre.The event will feature MCX promotions, “Marine Green” reusable bag giveaway by Col Robert Rice and SgtMaj James Sutton, in addition to environmental awareness displays.

Travel Expo & Activity Showcase
The MCCS Information, Tickets & Tours and Tradewind Travel offices will celebrate the
grand opening of their new location at Mokapu Mall. This celebration will include a one-stop showcase of Hawaii's diverse leisure and
cultural activities. Not only that, travel and excursion planners will share their expertise about the islands, from worldwide travel to weekend getaways and hula shows to hikes through nature. Prize drawings throughout the event will include luaus, whale watches, hotel accommodations and more!
Operation Homefront, 1200 to 1400
Especially for families of deployed Marines and Sailors aboard MCBH, participants will learn
about “going green” and make special “green” crafts to take home. Refreshments will be provided.
Resource & Education Expo
Opportunity rests with each of us as individuals
to do our part through activities like recycling, shopping with reusable bags, using CFL light bulbs and energy-efficient appliances, or
driving fuel-efficient vehicles. Whether you’ve already started doing your part or if “going green” is still on your to-do list, come learn
what you can do to preserve the environment
for future generations.
Recycling Competition 0900-1100

“Marine Green” Bag Giveaway

Commanding Officer Col Robert Rice wants to ensure that nobody aboard MCB Hawaii ever uses a plastic bag again! Col Rice and the base Sergeant Major, SgtMaj James Sutton will be distributing reusable bags. Every adult attendee at the Earth Day Expo will receive a free, reusable bag. Authorized patrons can take their bag into the Marine Corps Exchange between 1000 and 1400 to receive a special discount on all the merchandise that fits in it!*
